I have been watching a lot of youtube vids from the Bark At The Moon tour and Jake E Lee is an awesome guitarist. He kind of dropped off the radar after he left Ozzy and started up BADLANDS, a more blues oriented rock band in the 80's and 90's.
I would actually consider Jake to be in my top 10 fav guitarists now. |

haha, I had the badland's first tape...yes i said tape...that was a long time ago before CD's and i was like 13 or so. Not really into them any more but you should also check out Dangerous Toy's, at the time Dangerous toy's was one of my fav's but they never really took off. |

yeah I listened to High Wire by Badlands and I liked the feel of it.
But I do remember tapes, my mom had Def Leppard's greatest hits on tape lol
thanks for the suggestion |

I always thought he was just another wannabe Ed Van Halen. And thats probably WHY he dropped off the radar. Too many people wanted to be Eddie back then. Just like so many people want to be Mick Thompson or Steve Vai. |

actually he dropped off the radar because he and ozzy didn't ever actually see eye to eye. He played a hardtail strat style guitar, so that already sets him apart from the man himself. He does seem heavily influenced by Ed, Randy, and maybe some other blues players, but I think that he is an awesome guitarist.

yeah, it is the internet. btw I found this 80 minutes interview last night with Eddie Van Halen in 1982, just youtube Eddie Van Halen guitar world interview 1982, at the beginning of the fourth part, the interviewer asks Ed if he knew Randy Rhoads, and he said he did and that he was honest. He really was upset by the whole ordeal of Rhoads' passing. |

yeah, he was a little, but they weren't actually friends you know. Its hard to feel a lot of hurting emotions for someone you didn't really know. I mean in Ed's defense it kinda is, but you shouldn't really slam someone who was that caliber, though he did say he was good. |

back off topic :) well quiet riot did open for van halen a few times in l.a.
k now back on topic :)
i like him, and his personality of him and the guitar if u watch '83 us festival he made randys solos into his own, i mean one reason is he didnt know how to play them, but he did well for somone tht replaced the best guitarist ever.
you wana see a good job though, although i dont like him u must respect brad gillis from night ranger. learned the set of ozzys songs in a couple weeks. nice job. although i find his use of the whammy bar too much and tone horrendous. you gotta respect him for that. |

I have always liked the live solos that Jake put together. Just an awesome player, and even a good showman during the concerts. |
