What scales does he use in his solos i would really like to know this. |

I don't hear anything really odd or exotic in his solos so I'm guessing just the modes. Which are 7 scales in one key that have their own individual uses. Go look at the lessons on modes on the site, then from there you should know what exactly you are looking for specifically. |

Yeah Petrucci generally just employs modes but through frequent modulation which is what makes DT's music that much more harmonically rich. I think of all the modes he very often uses Phrygian, interspersed with harmonic minor.
BTW, does anyone want to buy one of his guitars? I currently have in my possession one of the Ibanez JPMs actually owned and played by him both in he studio and on tour!

Asking price for the guitar is £1400 pounds sterling, comes with original hardcase and other bits and pieces, I have several pictures if anyone is seriously interested...
