I used to use Rocktron pedal's they were cheap and junk. I'm not sure if they have improved quality since then but I'd stay clear unless they were giving them away.

Well if it were my hard earned money i'd go for the Metal Muff, i just liked the tone better.
Looks like rocktron are making better products than when I owned their stuff. They used to be all plastice and you would have to soder the battery clip all the time. but they were cheap, real cheap.

Metal Muff is good for "new" Metal sound but I have found that the Boss Metal Zone is the most natural sounding and it is incredibly DIVERSE, one can get many types of distortion from that pedal. It sounds great on any amp.
Seymour Duncan came out with a pedal called Twin Tube Mayhem or something like that. I haven't tried it but it has vacuum tubes in it.
Rocktron pedals are alright but for digital distotion/effects pedals nothing beats Line 6 POD.

Yea, I saw a demo of the Twin Tube Mayhem but The most i can afford is about $100, and that's like a $250 pedal.
and I have a line 6 amp but it's sounds digital.
and I have the Digitech RP350 and it has the Boss Metal Zone distortion built in but it doesn't sound natural to me.

Not sure how accurate the Digitech version of the Metal Zone is but from the many pedals that I have tried the Boss Metal Zone is pretty high on the list, and it sells for about $70.
The Metal Muff is also good as Telecrater noted but it is too heavy for my taste.
Just saw the review for the Rocktron Zombie and it sounds pretty close to the Metal Zone pedal except a bit heavier. Seems like the mid frequencies aren't too good on it, however it could be due to the settings.

Haha well............. Old Megadeth? Yes. New Megadeth shows have compressed sound although Mustaine's guitar is very organic sounding.
I once got this awesome tone that was so close to Killing is My Business I wrote it down but now I lost it. I have a
video ion Youtube that's pretty close
My playing was very sloppy at the time so excuse me. And note it sounds like the Mechanix but it's got a little variation.

Hmmmm thats a tough one but I'm sure youll get Thrash, Groove, even Rock from the MT-2.
The Zombie sounds good but you are very undecided like me especially when you have very little money and that is a good thing.
Metal Muff sounds different. I'm not sure know what you mean by "Cutting Edge" but I'm guessing you mean high mids and the Metal Muff will give you that.
