"Classical" words

What does:
Sonata and Adagio mean??

If someone know other "classical" words that is useful to know, please tell me:)

As you can see in there Jazzys lesson, Adagio means "Slow, leisurely", but in that list do not have Sonata :)...

Sonata is musical term that means Music written for solo instrument. I think it allow accompaniment too...

Sonata is essentially a song that is instrumental only (cantata is for voice). It is generally not very long, maybe no more than about 7-8 mins.

Andante Moderato, D.C al Coda, Minuet, Poco moto, Allegro ma non troppo, Waltz tempo(blue danube is a common example), Allegretto quasi andantino(habanera from carmen is a fairly common one), dolce movimento, there are more but i would go on for a while. are any of these listed in jazz's list?

Yeah they are. More will be added once I add the higher grades... it's taking a while to add though because I need to find classical examples for the actual lessons.

what does op. and prelude mean??

op.= opus, the most famous/great work of an artist/composer

prelude is a short ish song, look up prelude in d minor by j.s bach its like 1:23 so it is a prelude cause its short

isnt a prelude like an intro song?

Yes its kind of an intro. It is short instrumental piece that precede the whole.
