Hey, I just bought a new guitar about two weeks ago and just a few days ago I noticed that the high E string buzzes whenever I play it on the 10th fret. It's the only string that buzzes and it only does it on that fret. Any suggestions? |

It's the intonation, you should get it repaired at the shops, a bit bad for it to already be messed up when you just got it... Did you buy it new? |

bummer. i bet they told you it was new when it really wasnt. where did you get it? it's kind of their fault that it's like that, i would take the guitar in and complain (don't forget the receipt)
i'm not saying be a duck about it, but they might fix it if you bought it that recently. |

I would take it to the GC guys with the receipt and just tell them that you bought it there a while ago and were having some trouble with it. They'll most likely fix it for you, since they have the 30 day warrantee, I think.

check the frets namely the 11th when you fret the 10th does it hit the 11th?? it could be popping out due to humidity and temp change. but by all means if it's under return rules return it. if anything just to piss of guitar center i hate them. go to ma and pop places their much better some are snobby but it help cause you know kids aren't **ing with the ***. just flash some Bens and they will love you. keeps out the people who aren't buying |

If you hit the 10th fret and it sounds like the 11th, your action is too low. But if the 10th fret is just buzzing, i'm pretty sure its humidity. I had the same problem with my acoustic. But Jazz's solution sounds much fancier and more intelligent, so that too could be it. |

Hmm personally Ithink it might be neck bow, I have the same trouble on my Les Paul cept its Low-E 12th fret, the intonation is correct on all strings and its not the action.
So if its anything like mine possible neck warp.. |

thats what mine is. AK48-F. Thank you nutter. You probably have a neck bow due to humidity. |

But its not humid. it's fuking winter in Wisconsin. I think it might be a fret problem, I'm thinking of taking it to a place down the street and getting it filed down. |

Um..your welcome O.o
Yeah I'm taking mine into college today to get it sorted, band mate is pretty good with this kind of shiskababal =]
You can still get a warp in the middle of winter, it's temprature change as well as humidity levels, if your thinking of getting your fretboard leveled get the whole thing a checking over first otherwise you could be paying out the teeth (possibly) for something you don't need. |

Or, just take it to a shop where you didn't buy it, get their opinion, but DO NOT get them to repair it! Then when you actually find out the problem, take it back and be all serious! That way they know not to mess with you! Or try to con you again. |

I don't think they conned me or anything. I'm not going to hold it against them. *** happens, *** breaks, that's the way it is, and I'm cool with that. One way or another I'll get it fixed, but thank you all for your suggestions. At least now I have a better idea of what to tell the people who I am going to get an estimate from what might be the problem. |
