ok, so i got my new amp, which has a recording outlet, so i figured it was like a USB type deal, but then when i got it i found out it needing to be plugged into a recorder. but cant all amps do that?
well anyway, is there anything i can get that i can just plug the amp into, then plug it into a usb in the pc, then record, without having a massive soundboard. |

Hmm, I dont have experience of that kind of USB things in amps, but I think its kind of technically possible. There are two options. Your amp have integrated soundcard (that I doubt), or PC use PC own soundcard when you plug that in... well... what is your amp model?

Plug one end of a cable into the amp, and the other into that. Then, plug that into your PC's Mic input.
Works like a charm. |

if your amp has a 1/4 jack for the line out (same as your guitar) then you will need to either run a cable to a mixer or get a converter for (1/4 female to 1/8 male) So it will plug into your sound card. |

@BBT,
You're almost right. As i read the description it says that you plug the guitar into this device NOT THE AMP. possible you'd blow the thing up if you power it with the amp. So the order is this; guitar-device-amp(and/or usb on computer). so you can record into the computer and use software for effects etc.

You plug it into the guitar because, as pros do it (when you B'n'Q it lolzor) they record it clean, then use their recording programs to give the recorded guitar any chosen or requested effect, any chosen guitar sound they want and it makes it sound amazing, even if you're playing with a beginner's guitar.
Sneaky yet successful.
