Fender strat

american fenders are the best rite? but there also most expensive? where are the rest of the fenders made and what do they cost? which are the best "bang for your buck"? which have the best value. etc etc etc please tell me all about fender strats

well if u mean in fender guitar circle ye, i like gibsons. but yes american is the best. always american, we have the most expensive labor and expensive parts so eveything is more expensive. they are the most expensive, i find that some mexican fenders ive tryed sound amazing.

really and how much less is a mexican

I thin the standard mim strats are about450-500 but you can get them used for $300 or so.

so american are the best and then the mexican are next best. then once you get to china its all squiers rite?

I think it goes, from worst to best (generally speaking, of course there's exceptions here and there): China (Squier) -> Mexico -> Korea
-> Japan -> America

what your paying for in a American is better parts and a more quality craftsman. Mexico are the next step down (in some modals this is where it starts to vary) they are very good but notorious for letting bad ones seep through (i have seen some horrible nut jobs) the standard is a very good guitar i just recommend having it set up by a good Luther after you buy it they run at 400-500 new

ya grx got it but the don't make japan's anymore (at lest i don't think) and they tend too blend.

what about korea

don't know never seen a Korean and nothing in production that i know of is made in korea or at lest nothing that i fancy

idk, i found the mexican ones amazingly good. american is best but mexican or jap is good also.

I have a MIM and it's a great guitar and has held up really well. I've seen the squires fall apart after a few years. Over all i think anything that has the fender brand are good quality. steer clear of squires. Also fenders have a very thin neck so that may take some getting used to.

I'll sell you mine for $300, I don't play it much anymore.

Korean guitars are generally crap. Not sure why when they make normal guitars. But most of the knock of types are accually made in korea.

I think its the Lite Ash Strat and Tele that are Korean. They're pretty good actually.

i actually have a MIM fender too but i set it up and change things like a the soft V profile neck. so much nicer the all that "C" and god forbid "modified C" profile necks they shove down your throat now en days.

i too say stay away from squier they suck so much

G&L use a Korean factory to make their tribute 'Legacy' guitars (Tele's and Strats, but with a different name of cause).They are very well made, very playable and extremely inexpensive!

Japan make really good quality strats such as the tokai goldstar:


really rich tone on them sounds gorgeous in my opinion and fairly cheap too

yeah i like G&L's a lot they really are put together well

There are great guitars made outside the U.S. but then shipped here and setup here. Like Schecters. They are built in Korea then setup in California.

Yes that's right. It's the same with G&L Tribute's, they get built to high spec in Korea then sent to the G&L workshop to be set up and stamped (Corona I think). If G&L don't like them when they're tested, they scrap them (or so they say).

Some Mexican Strats are as good as U.S Strats. The only difference would probably be the pickup quality. I suggest you try out both. Even some Squires have a decent sound but a Mexican Strat will give you a pro Strat sound.

mexican strats start at 400 an all-american strat start at 900. i got lucky and bought a used amer strat for cheap, but honestly cant tell the diff between it and a mex one. but it is old. 1989 model the guitar shop guy told me.
