strings...again

heya, i havent changed my stings in about 3 months and have been finding my low notes dont sound in tune and my high notes and on like a different frequency and very high, like ear popping... every 1 says it and ive noticed, im playing the right notes, and my playing has only gotten better? is it my strings? do i need a set up? just got 1 in june...

depending on hyour strings, you should change them once every few weeks.

I would change your strings every month or so unless you use exlers then when they sound like crap. didn't you just setup your guitar a few weeks ago? you should not need a setup every time you change your strings. but strings will get that dead sound

my high strings r waaaay too high like outta frequency, ive been trying to tune by ear but it doesnt sound right, i have to now tune by the tuner and it doesnt sound right. i got a setup end of june, havent changed strings since then so about 2-3 months.

I guess there's a possibility there's something wrong with your electronics in your guitar (highly unlikely) or your amp (still not very likely). Your tuner may not be working properly either so you may want to use the tuner on this website (which you may have already considering you said "the tuner") since it's, essentially, infallible.

just a guess but warped neck? my friend had similar problem turned out to be that, but he did leave his black guitar in the sun for ages so yeh just possibility.

i just got a setup 3 months ago. ill ask my teach b4 i change my strings, i hope i dont need another setup.

You don't need a setup...oil and dirt get in the strings and cause it to sound... dead. Get new strings but check what guage your bridge needs. I have a floating bridge or also called a reverse wammy... if you use too heavy of a guage it will cause the bridge to rise up until the bridge touches the body and stops itself. It causes your action to be really high to it's hard to play solo's and you cant wammy

as far as care is conserned keep the guitar out of heat... 85 is pushing it. store it in a dry place... preferably in a hard-case if it's hot in Florida then keep it close to the temp around you cause if not, the transition from cool to hot causes the strings to go out of tune.


Tuners... i have a 10 dollar one and i want to throw it out... it's whack. I've got a Line 6 POD that has a tuner built in and it has perfect intonation and it's dead on. i also have a boss pedal tuner and it's dead as balls acurate

hey also guys i just changed them, its better...how do i get rid of fret buzzing... i adjust the bridge but i remember when i brought it in for a set up he said tht my thic strings are higher then my thin ones, how do i know they are both ata the same level?

also even wit my strngs really high i still get buzz, will it correct its self? my neck is perfectly straight.

it probably needs a setup EMB. you may not think so but chances are it
does. everytime the weather changes so does your guitar. i just had a
setup done yesterday,last setup was just 2 months ago. 2 week old strings
were buzzing,so i had the frets polished and new strings again as well
as raised the action about 1mm. it plays like butter now.

I have heard a lot of people with LP's say they can't get rid of the string buzz. Mine does it but you can't hear it when its plugged in only when I am playing around without the amp.

I would say just buy new strings (they are cheap anyways) then if that doesnt fix it check it out

i changed the strings. my teach checked my guitar said i didnt need a setup, it was straight as an arrow...

oopss...i just relized i chnged my strings and the 3 highest u tune higher clockwise and the d string is anti clockwise and the a and e u tune higher clockwise, does this afect anything?

I wouldn't have thought so, you'll just have to make sure you turn it anticlockwise to increase the pitch.

ye i am screwin tht up, but i dont firgure it would hurt the guitar

ya the way the tuning keys turn dont make a difference
