no but srsly

religion, EVERYONE has 2 believe in something, if its not god then its a cult, MUSIC, nature, hell it culd b ur mum or dad or brother or sister or wife or husband. everyone believe in something and as uve probably heard humans only use 10% of their brain ok. now lets say belief owned a porportion of that percentage. jus as we guitarists hone our skills with practice, and genius' increase brain cpactiy with sums and math and brainteasers, religious ppl hone their beliefs with prayer and church. ok, so the religious folk r getting "better" (for want of a better word) at being religious AND eventually are SO GOOD at it that it is real for them and they use more of their brain for belief than anything else.
Belief is a powerful thing, mayb god is real for those who believe and nothingnes awaits the pagans (dorogertry aside) afta death. BAK TO THE 10% BRAIN ISSUE, if with 10% of our brains can accumulate a society of todays standards, narrowing in on gud, well wat can 20, 30, 50% do. wat if this sort of brain power is wat we call god, or the pope, or bishop, or hell our local priest.

THANKYOU

u may wnt 2 read ova dat once more coz its a bit all ova de place

sincerely, pager :D

Interesting viewpoint :P

Btw, most of you might know this but following joke makes me laugh everytime...

Dr. Schambaugh, of the University of Oklahoma School of Chemical Engineering, Final Exam question for May of 1997. Dr. Schambaugh is known for asking questions such as, "why do airplanes fly?" on his final exams. His one and only final exam question in May 1997 for his Momentum, Heat and Mass Transfer II class was: "Is hell exothermic or endothermic? Support your answer with proof."

Most of the students wrote proofs of their beliefs using Boyle's Law or some variant. One student, however, wrote the following:

"First, We postulate that if souls exist, then they must have some mass. If they do, then a mole of souls can also have a mass. So, at what rate are souls moving into hell and at what rate are souls leaving? I think we can safely assume that once a soul gets to hell, it will not leave.

Therefore, no souls are leaving. As for souls entering hell, let's look at the different religions that exist in the world today. Some of these religions state that if you are not a member of their religion, then you will go to hell. Since there are more than one of these religions and people do not belong to more than one religion, we can project that all people and souls go to hell. With birth and death rates as they are, we can expect the number of souls in hell to increase exponentially.

Now, we look at the rate of change in volume in hell. Boyle's Law states that in order for the temperature and pressure in hell to stay the same, the ratio of the mass of souls and volume needs to stay constant. Two options exist:

If hell is expanding at a slower rate than the rate at which souls enter hell, then the temperature and pressure in hell will increase until all hell breaks loose.
If hell is expanding at a rate faster than the increase of souls in hell, then the temperature and pressure will drop until hell freezes over.
So which is it? If we accept the quote given to me by Theresa Manyan during Freshman year, "that it will be a cold night in hell before I sleep with you" and take into account the fact that I still have NOT succeeded in having sexual relations with her, then Option 2 cannot be true...Thus, hell is exothermic."

The student, Tim Graham, got the only A.

But if Hell supernatural realm, which means it most likely doesn't have the same physics and such that we have here, in this life.

However, there's always a possibility that Heaven and Hell have the same physics and such that we have in this realm.

Guess it's up to debate, really.

^ that's right.

But I've been thinking lately,
Maybe if there is some kind of hell, then it is just a state of mind. Not a place, just a state of mind, same with Heaven.

Like, the planet we live on is basically a hell, with all the wars and shit going on.

Heaven would be like, everything and anything you want it to be.

But that's my oopinion

I saw a movie kind of like that, called "5 People You Meet in Heaven". It's a corny, Hallmark channel movie, but I liked the premise behind it. Basically, before you go to heaven, you go to 5 other people's version of heaven. You see things from their point-of-view as a kind of preparation for your heaven, like purgatory. Then your heaven is whatever you want it to be.

That's a good point. Since we can't really know for sure if there is a heaven or hell, the best thing to do is live life as well as you can.

I believe Heaven to be a City of Paradise. With streets of gold, and mansions. There will be a new earth, without the problems that have plagued the current one. I believe there will be Angels and People singing praises unto The Lord.

(ref. John 14:2, KJV).

Agreed 100%, my own life was very low for years.. well like quote from movie geisha... This story should never been told. However I found my inner peace through my kids (have 2 of them) and I learned that if I act nicely to people and enjoy everything that come upon me, things cant go wrong. After 12 years of learning Ive found that it is true.

Biblically, you are right.

Galatians 6:7-8

7 "Be not deceived; God is not mocked: for whatsoever a man soweth, that shall he also reap."

8 "For he that soweth to his flesh shall of the flesh reap corruption; but he that soweth to the Spirit shall of the Spirit reap life everlasting."

I like these quotes:
"If God did not exist, it would be necessary to invent Him."
Voltaire
There's another Voltaire quote (I think) that goes something like:
"I set out to prove there was no God, only to come to the conclusion that He Exists"

"Religion is the sigh of the oppressed creature, the heart of a heartless world, just as it is the spirit of a spiritless situation. It is the opium of the people. The abolition of religion as the illusory happiness of the people is required for their real happiness. The demand to give up the illusion about its condition is the demand to give up a condition which needs illusions."
