Nylon String Guitars

I've been looking to purchase a nylon string (classical) guitar recently. I don't really have any experience with them and would like suggestions, input, whatever. So if anyone knows some good brands or models, shoot away!

I am familiar with them they feel wicked for certain songs but chords often sound weak with the steel strings being so much more powerful sounding then the nylons, that said anything classical and even some modern songs sound pretty good however I don't advise buying a classical guitar as they are extremely expensive for a good quality one but you can buy a good acoustic that's less expensive and of equal quality to the high end classics and put on nylon strings that way you also don't have to deal with the extremely wide neck.

a long time ago i owned a Yairi and i wish i never gave it up. hindsight! they still make them, not sure if they are still good.

Nylon string guitars usualy have a mellow sound to them and the fretboard will be flat and fat. if you got small hands you might have some troble.

LOL. I learned how to play on my Mexican classical guitar which is pretty damn good quality for the price. $65.00 Spanish guitar companies make the best ones but they are pricey. You could settle for an Ibanez.

I would like to have a good classical guitar to learn finger picking.

why do you need a classical guitar to learn to finger pick? I learned on a steel guitar. gez has anyone done a lesson on fingerpicking?

You don't, I guess I worded that wrong I would like to have a classical guitar and I would like to learn to finger pick. Is that better? lol... And yea it would be great if you could do a lesson on finger picking

Well with most classical guitars with nylon strings the string spacing is further aprat. also steal strings are a little hard on the old fingers than nylon. But i thin you should play what yous gots!

i personally like better nylon... theyve got a softer tone in my opinion.. and handmade guitars are the best when it comes to nylon... a good one worth the price may cost like 150 bucks (usa dlls)
