Is any one into Country Music?

I have always really rebelled against it cuz' my folks forced fed it to me for years. But recently I listened to some guy and he was a really great guitar player. I can't remember who it was, but i was impressed. I just wondering if this is a sign that I'm getting old?

can any one recommend some good country guitar songs?

I like Johnny Cash and Willie Nelson. Not so sure about songs with guitars that just blew my mind though.

Idk... I like some country. Most of it is just to fake for my taste, I like a song to be about something real. Seems to me country has turned to what ever sound they can make the most money off of. I guess the word I'm looking for is to "MAINSTREAM". There are some songs that I like. Toby Keith is probably one of my favorite country singers. And a lot of the older stuff is o.k.

is Chris Daughtry considered country??? He seems like a modern country/rock mix to me..am i the only who thinks that??? The vocals just have that sound to them...some on e-slap me if I'm wrong

well theres country rock, and country pop, and reg country. country pop i dont like, country rock is o.k. and country i dont like.

what i find funny? how kids now (my friends) think tht lynyrd skynyrd is country. lol its almost funny. lynyrd skynyrd may have a countryish type sound, maybe, but still, its amazing how ppl now are so ill informed about music. they think its country because ther from the south. saying lynyrd skynyrd is country is like saying a BMW is a o.k. car lol.
anyway getting back on track, i think the rythm has a lot to do with the country. it just has tht "country sound" i dont really like country, but thts my opinion, and everyones entitled to ther own.

A lot of Skynyrd songs have an old school blues sound that you don't really hear to much any more. I think that is what throws a lot of people, especially younger people.

my friend, when in doubt, google it!

Chronology is the science of locating events in time. An arrangement of events, from either earliest to latest or the reverse, is also called a chronology or, particularly when involving graphical elements, a timeline. See also Chronicle.

I think it was brad paisley or something like that. he sarted some song and was all over the neck with this super clean compressed sound on a tele. I was impressed who ever he was.

Yeah, he plays a Tele. He's pretty good too.

The Tele is a very versatile guitar, I've seen it in all styles from country to Metal.

You know what weird is semi/full hollow bodies, i SWORE they were Blue/Jazz/Country guitars...

Chris Daughtry uses them in his songs...

Upon Beauty Rests(Screamo,Indie,Rock)their lead guitarist uses one...

Full hollows going hardrock/metal scene???? Seems super weird, i realize they have an extremely unique sound but it seems like it would be too unique tele's are nice guitars for just about any style you just have to like the tele sound

Well, I do get jokes, just not on the internet since sarcasm is hard to detect when it's in print. :-/

Not so true.

Take this classic Canadian joke for example

- Excuse me, Terrance.
- Yes, Phillip?
*FARTS*
- Good one. Cheers.
- Cheers, fuck-face.

I do like country just not the mainstream stuff. Except maybe Trace Adkins he has a good rock n roll sound. I actually believe country has as much early influence in rock as does Blues. Also, Telecasters are awesome guitars :D I like Lynard Skynards sound and Johnny Cash.

im gona post me playing tuesdays gone soon on youtube. its my fav skynyrd song acctually, and id appreciate some critisism on it. i learned it in about 2 days, it wont be perfect, some parts made up/ improvised, but its pretty good. itll be on youtube soon, but i lost my usb cable, my chanell is wareaglebabe11. tnx

i like skynyrd, and if u can consider allman brothers a country band, i dont belive it is but some say it is, i kinda like them. they are similar yet not the same as skynyrd. skynyrd beats them anyday.

Another country singer I like is David Allen Coe. He has some good music. Someone else that a lot of people over look because of his sound is Willie Nelson, You may not like him or his music but he is an awesome country music guitarist.

@skold: uve said "fuck" 3 times on a guitar forum, and uve told some one to die... also grx shouldnt have called u a retard. the proper word would have prob been ignorant to country music, but w/e. its also hard to tell sarcasm on the internet, a lol or jk would work in tht spot.

@lp:the fight starts at 7 pm eastern, in battle creek michigan (idk i just thought of it) will be brodcasted on espn and espnHD. copyright 2008 internet fights limited. all rights reserved lol.

@LP

And he's more biased than Earl Hebner.

Also, I figured that since my joke about the style of Country was so un-true, people would have understood that it was a joke.
