I'm considering purchasing the Fender American Jazz Bass.
I'm just curious if anyone on the site happens to own any Jazz Bass guitars and could give me a little bit of feedback on your dislikes and likes of the bass.
Also, recommendations of a quality bass half-stack or power combo. |

If your gonna buy a Jazz bass, go with the Geddy Lee signature series, I love the one my cousins girlfriend has which I believe to be a Geddy, the only dislike I have is that the neck is a little thin for my hands but then again I have rather huge hands |

I'm actually going for the thin neck, I've got smaller hands I guess. I don't like how thick the P-Bass's neck is, especially when I try to play an F chord. |

if you like thin necks, check out a hartke bass. they are top quality instruments so they may be a little pricey, but check one out anyway. |

hartke should fit right in there. you should also check out ESP/LTD basses or rickenbacker. |

People actually play chords on bass? Seems like you would tear the webbings of your fingers doing that, haha. |

there is a whole lot more to playing bass than going "thump thump thump". check out victor wooten, jimmy haslip or marcus miller. |

Rickenbackers not only look good they sound good too. Fender precision sounds good too and very versatile. I wouldnt buy a bass with more than four strings. |

Oh, howcome League? I always figured that the more strings you have, the more options you have musically. Same with guitars, it's just... I use a 6 string because I don't think I could get used to more strings that easily. |

I use my Strat as a bass :) Just need to raise the bridge up by the nut (can't recall the name) by about 5-8mil and it's good for Bass tuning =D
I don't have the flexibility to clear the bass strings :( Stupid hands.
Anyway, Jazz Basses are really nice and such, but alike a guitar what you want to play will work better on certain types of Bass. |
