I just bought an Orange Micro Crush micro amp. This thing sounds great for 3 amps and a 4" speaker. It has great tone for it's size. It has gain and tone but no delay or reverb. I don't want to have to use pedals with it cause then I'm getting away from the portability.

Do any of you use a micro amp? Is there one with a delay or reverb for under a hundred bucks?

is it a micro combo amp? or one of those "lunchbox" amplifiers that still requires an external speaker?

oh dur you are talking about portability so i'm assuming it's a combo amp. and i don't know how to delete a post so.....

It's a micro combo amp. It was 59 bucks. I tested a Vox mini 3 today and it sounds even beter with a bunch of effects. It's 99 buck though. I'm thinkin of getting the Vox.

I was just checkin to see if anyone else uses these things and what they thought.

I want to use it on my patio or even in the living room. I have kids and not a lot of room. I play my electric mostly on my computer with headphones. But the whole set up is a pain. I would like to just plug in an jam. I'm gonna try out some more tuesday. I'll let ya'll know what I end up doing.

I hear the pignose has great sound but no effects.

I'm still struggling with my decision! I added a few more to look at since my last post but now I've narrowed it down to the Roland Micro Cube, Vox mini 3, and the Fender Mustang mini.

I can't decide on these three! The differences in price are minor and not an issue. The Roland sounds like a big amp. The Fender sounds great with a ton of features and even downloadable sounds. The Vox just sounds the warmest.

I guess I could buy any of them and be happy but which one would you buy and why?

I picked up the Mustang Mini last week. I brought it to my little brothers house yesterday who plays drums and we had a jam session. Yes, this little thing is loud and full enough to play with drums! I only had it up to 5 or 6. I know it's not a full size amp and i won't be using it at any gigs or anything but it's amazing for the size!

I'm all for the mini's. I own a Roland Cube 25 and it's all I need. In fact I just traded my 100watt Carvin for a Roland Synth. I never got to crank that amp past ONE. Just don't need 100 watts for nothing these days.

That's true GS. I never seem to be able to get out much these days and when I do it's usually just a little jam session among family and friends. My older brother was so impressed he went and bought the Fender Mustang II. It's got a 12" speaker and 40 watts. I just may bring the mini back and get one of these. I bought the mini because of the battery thing but I just don't see myself ever using it at the beach or a park. Maybe I'll get both!

Well, I liked the Mustang Mini so much that I upgraded to the Mustang I! It's 20 watts with a 8" speaker and all the same effects plus a little more. It's actually 20 buck cheaper than the mini. The mini is more because of the battery option which I've found I won't ever really use.

The cool thing about these little amps is that they also have a USB out so I can use it as an audio interface. It come with Fender Fuse software which enables me to control it from from my Mac. There's a ton of additional amps and sounds I can download to my computer or the amp itself. I love technology!

Line 6 Micro Spider for that real, REAL high gain with the addition of the deoctave mixed in there...on the amp it's known as "Insane"...& it is...
