Today I learned how to play Nitro's "freight train" solo. Not to be c-ocky...but it was wayyyyyy easier than i thought it was lol....

the point of this thread though is that once i realized that i could play this solo....which prettymuch means that i could somewhat keep up with MAB(on a bad day haha).....i wondered if hes REALLY the fastest guitarist in the world.

I know that somewhere in the world there is some dude or chick who might not want to be famous, but can shred MAB's head off with their speed....just a thought.

Ill have a video of me playing it(and some others) as soon as i get a camera :)

That is an awsome solo. Kudos.
But no,mab is not the fastest guitarist in
the world, theres shawn lane XP,rusty cooley, danny joe carter
marcus paus,dele vega,and a couple more.

Mab is quick,no doubt,his technique is flawless,but
He is more flash,ambidextrious,over-under madness.
Theres others who can play faster,bottom.line.

speed is speed. You said fastest guitarist[s].
Batio is an awsome guitarist, so are you.
But batio is not the fastest, but that solo is a step in the right
direction.

Yeah. I would say Shawn Lane, eventhough he's not with us anymore, was the fastest all-around I've ever seen. Although another guy not mentioned in the are of speed is Steve Morse. He alternate picks arpeggios! And, he does it amazingly fast and clean. Do that and we'll talk!

P.S. I'm still waiting to see a video from the both of ya.

If you feel accomplished it is a good accomplishment. I can make soup very quickly, and feel accomplished when I do.

Try looking at Tiago Della Vegas flight of the bumblebee, tell me when you play that.

its not complex at all....very repetitive.

the flight of the bumblebee is not tiago della vegas. I was written by Nikolai Korsakov wayyy before tiagos great grandparents were even thought about. al he did was play it really fast.

but i am learning it right now. My ADD just doesnt allow me to learn it at a constant pace lol. last time i practiced it(well...at least what i know) was like 6 months ago. and now ill learn like 2 or 3 bars, play it, and forget it 2 hours later.

Hahaha, +1!

I do that all the time. I'll learn a song, say for open mic night at a local pub or whatever. But when I get on stage I totally forget the song and what I wanted to play!

I feel your pain, dude. A couple of days ago I was playin Bach's Partita in Dmin(allemande) for a group of people and i couldnt remember the second half of it(when it changes) so i just played the 1st half and stopped....it wouldve been embarrasing if i had choked lol
