Right I have Cubase LE and I'm experiencing some latency issues.
Now my setup is guitar -> fx -> alesis multimix 8 USB -> cubase.
Now I've heard people on other forums say that by allocating less memory to cubase you fix latency issues but the idea that by taking resources away from a program makes it work better seems idiotic to me.
Now I just wanted to know if there was a way to get rid of the latency so I didn't have to keep shifting all my recorded tracks about half a second back in time? |

I'm using Asio4all is it full duplex?
@Null Cubase also has it's own vst folder you could just copy them into that folder as well |

My computer ->C:-> Program Files -> Steinberg-> Cubase LE-> Vstplugins
Your C drive may be called something like ACER(C:), DELL(C:), (C:) but it's still the same place. |

You can also add directories in cubase "devices" -> plug-in information and there vst2x paths (cubase 5 atleast). in those directories you can also save .dll's that come from many free plugins around there.

@ Nullnaught - it should work after you put your VSTs into the folder - it got a bit complicated with me, sometimes it would only work if it had the entire VST's folder INSIDE the VST folder and there were even times where it would only want the .dll file and nothing else. Give both of those things a try.
@ DM, your problem might not be the program's fault - instead, you computer sounds like it's hungry for better parts. Upgrading your audio and video driver might help out - but you need to make sure they're compatible with your motherboard. I'd say I would upgrade your computer for you, but I have a list of things that need to be done before summer ends... so if you are interested in upgrading your computer - I can talk you through all the necessary steps if you want. Just PM me or something. |

@Jazz the thought did occur to me since it's a laptop (Acer aspire 5638Z) but it does have a dual core processor and is quite powerful for a laptop.
I'm looking into drivers though and I'll pm you if I need any help.
Also some VST's have support files like graphics or presets that the dll has to access so it would need more than just the dll, though saying that most of the time they still work (if they are made well that is) |

The vst i need my cubase to reconise is my guitar pedal that does not require a driver. Its has a usb port and is reconised by audacity. I would assume my vst to be somewhere in my vst connections or plug ins or anywhere in that folder. But it does not appear anywhere like it does on audacity.
Any advice? :( |

I have no idea for usb add-ons sadly. I don't ever use them, so I have no clue. Might be better off contacting your Pedal's supplier. |
