Anybody into Progressive rock. Yes, Genesis, Happy the Man, Gentle Giant, Hatfield and the North? I'm actually looking for newer bands like this.

Yeah, I have times when I listen much Genesis and other Phil's stuff anyway... Check out the Brand-X, his 70's stuff...

Few todays band comes to mind

Coheed and Cambria

Porcupine tree ofcourse, one of the best at these days, but I think you know it already... well... it might be considered progressive metal but anyway...

One of the most interesting "newer band" is Glass Hammer

Well, here for a start :)

Cheers

I absolutely love King Crimson, Yes and Rush. And Mahavishnu Orchestra, though i think they're more jazz fusion. But not much of a genesis fan

@Emp
Cool. I'm already a big Brand X fan. I've heard of Porcupine Tree and Coheed and Cambria but never really took a listen to them. I'll check them out when I get home.

@guitarJoe
Love Mahavishnu but yeah I put them in the fusio category.

Yes, King Crimson, Genesis(until 1982) Gentle Giant, etc-etc

back in the 7o's we called it "Art Rock". I loved it then and i love it now (just listening to the 1st PG solo "car" or 'One' yesterday)...

there are some fun bands I'll run by that either
1- imitate/pay-tribute to the lost genre and do a great job
2- the new progressives (not just folks who slap "progressive" next to their name, lol.

Flower Kings, Roiane Stolt, Kaipa (since 70's beware the last 2), Opeth(Still Life on, no seriously(freaked me out to), Ritual(my fav of the newer guys), Transatlantic, Dream Theater (90's), Spocks Beard (pre 2005), Radiohead, Allagoch, Islanders Bane, Rush, Anekdoten, Behold!...The Actopus, Dysrythmia, and many many more...
then, of course there are the bands who remain progressive still, Eno, PG, Fripp, Crimson, Adrian Belew, etc

and far to many more to post before coffee(lol)

If ya want more (suggestions) i'll either post them when i'm awake or you could mail me through me website via carl@carlsnow.com (www.carlsnow.com)

Dude! Love Coheed and Glass Hammer! I'm going to check out more of them later.

@Carlsnow
I have Flower Kings, Transatlantic,DT, and Spocks Beard. All awesome.

I aslo discovered OHM yesterday. They are kinda on the fusion side more than progressive but nevertheless awesome. Chis Poland is the guitarist and he's the original lead guitarist from Megadeth. I dowloaded the CD Circus of Sound.
