Ebay it man :)

Honestly mean no offense here, but you're basically asking if we can do the research for you. The best is expensive, but you can find some pretty good ones under 250, you just gotta search and compare. :)

Here man, get the Mic Mate and then get a Shure SM58 for vocals or a SM57 for guitar. thats what i use and i have no plans to change it. the mic mate is $50 and the shure mics are around $100. you can get both the SM's and still be within your budget.

You might want to get a condenser microphone for vocals and acoustic guitar, rather than a dynamic mic like the SM57 or SM58. I've been looking at a cheap one called the MXL 990, and also the RODE NT1a.

Unless you were going to use it live, then yeah... the SM58.

no problem man! and uhhh welcome back i guess. Im gonna record lots of diffrent stuff. i have this i idea to take random sounds (car starting, door shuting, animals) and add a bunch of effects to them, make some noises, maybe record a folk ep, whatever i want really. my built in mic just isn't cutting it anymore.
