First one sounds like, Am, F, C, G
Definitely in Am, or some mode of it (Ionian?)
Second one sounds like: C, Bb, Gm, F
At least I think that's what the bass intro is. This is with only giving it one listen, might be wrong. Good luck :) |

I think Nut didnt want to find another Sherlock, I think he want to have some suggestions where he start with these... If you cant give him those (because its so easy) you should stay silent. No offence.
Too bad I cant give him advices as well, but lucky we have many who are good with these like Jeff.

Hmm..
Thanks for the help Jeff :) I think your right on the first one (Though I started on a A5 and played the rest Fifths as well), think I've got most of this song sorted now it seems to just run the progression of A-F-C-G for most parts just different rhythm patterns.
Second one I just played the root notes at the start and used a G note.
@EMP: Yeh your right there, I know how to go about it just can't find my starting places. |

When you say starting places, are you talking about roots? If so, I would just slide my way down the fretboard til I found it. |

@ Nutter,
Good choice in songs, training your ear is really hard, and a really good form of practice is to play the same chord(s) and small licks ALL OVER THE GUITAR. It'll help you to recognise these chords later on. Practice this at least 30 mins a day and you'll be breasin' by :D |

Attention seekers!
Guess I solved this post on its first response, and it just got dragged to hell from there :)
What did I *** up on the 2nd one? Maybe I'll give it another listen and see what I can find out. Maybe I'll write an instrumental version. |

Jeff, Im definately wish to hear how that song or suicide sound with your style.
Im not good at this, but for me that second feels
D, A#(Bb?), Gm, F... could it be Jeff? around the chorus part

Hey thanks Jazzy :)
Jeff: On the second instead of playing a Gm I just played the G note on the E-string (3rd fret), though listening to it I think I may try running it out on one string (A or E) using the notes you figured out.
Glad you like his stuff, shame he isn't well known. |
