yeah, here's what you do. you put in the chords of a song in the lower area. Let's say it's in the key of G but you would like to transpose it to another key. you simply choose how many steps up or down you would like to change it then hit the transpose button and bing bang boom it spits out the "new" "transposed" chords. Cool eh?

okay ... its cool as hell;
very functional and i can see that some guitar-teachers(ME!? ... surely, *WINK* you jest!) may use this nice 'Lil tool when pressed for time to chart a tune played on a git (AC/DC) tuned a 1/2-step down for an impatient 13 year old kid (me!?...errr...Yeah!-Sure!.........*

::::> its a nice tool!!!

but

like all tools, i fear that this could/will be used to avoid(not my students!, b'gawd!..er..i hope) learning how to transpose 'the old fashioned way' (making ME sound like an old-fashion curmudgeon).

in the best of all possible worlds; i can see using this as a wonderful learning tool.
Teach that student to transpose!
Yes!
Teach them this immensely valuable skill using a very intuitive visual aid!
but!

but!
but!
Teach the skill to BECOMEabsent the program.

there will always be that 'band practice' of 'sit-in gig' where someone calls out a (known)tune in G and says "lets try this in F!"
So its my hope that this application will become a means to THAT end rather than a permanent crutch.

__ALL THAT SAID___

i love the thang myself!!!, it'll save me about 30min to an hour a day!

***uses super-hero / voice-over voice***

.."But, like any other tool of power: this can/could be used for evil(laziness) just as in can be used for good(convenience)!"

This just in:
"Programmers just split another musical-atom! Lets power ourselves by harnessing it's underlying power, rather than have it blow up in our eyes-wide-faces ...forcing a move back to the caves.."

and most of all..... RAWK!
