I think it is definetly his use of Falsetto that makes or breaks him.

Personally I like his music, solo and Mercyful Fate. I like the unique qualities in the music and how original it is.

Although he has very satanic lyrics and themes, not really my thing, but its just music.

I would say Yeah, Though I like Mercyful Fate times more. I like KD's idea of theme albums.

Mercyful Fate is better King Diamond is a watered down version although sometimes they bring out great songs.

Heck Yeah he sings great, but I agree all those dark occult themes not really to my taste.

yeah Mercyful Fate is better than KD, but I do like songs like Welcome Home, Them, and stuff from their newest album.

its been my guess that the insanely insane costumes and lyrics (not fun funny like Gwar, just lame, lol) are some way to get gigs without having to play ; cause when ya hear 'em oh good lord! its that Neutered "chord" (1+5th) over squealing demon-man/woman which is then overloaded with , yup, tap tap tapping LOL!!

And Mercyful fate is pretty goofy looking but I really like the lyrics in his songs, very talented guy IMO.

Yeah they're goofy looking too but they're the only power Metal band I like I have to say the music only gets sillier with other Power Metal bands.

IL admit those videos are hilarious, but some black metal i find good listen to dimu borgir there a great black metal band

League Have you ever heard of Helloween, thats the only power metal that i have been listening to. Like you, im not a fan of Power metal, or black metal for that matter.
