hi guys, just saying here, besides having cool music, their drummer rick allen, who only has one arm, possesses the BEST snare drum sound in the world. listen to it recorded or live. hes a beast. anyone know what kind it is?

It sounds like he's hitting the bass drum and the snare at the same time to give it a deeper effect.

I agree with Jazzy. Bass and snare. Or he's runinng some kind of echo effect through the bass mic to the speakers.

He was using Clavia's drum system, Forat's F/16 system, and the Hart Dynamics Acupad system. Basically he just used different types of synthetic drums which were very popular for many 80's bands. As of recently he uses an electronic set, but the sounds are recorded samples of acoustic sets.
