Morning Girl
Copyright 2008 - Matthew Moran (Sea Gypsy Music)

Morning Girl
The sunlight through the window
warms your soft skin where you lay
The coffee’s brewed, your breathing keeps the time as I
wait quietly for you to wake

And you must realize
that I’m like a man who’s been hypnotized
cuz there is nothing in my world
But me and my morning girl

Morning Girl
You flash that pretty smile
A lifted sheet invites me in
Coffee spills, another pillow stain
To mark this moment caught in time

And you must realize
that I’m like a man who’s been hypnotized
cuz there is nothing in my world
But me and my morning girl

Morning Girl
Talking skin to skin
As we lay out the day’s events
A casual touch, then cares and sheets tossed to the floor
We start our morning dance again

And you must realize
that I’m like a man who’s been hypnotized
cuz there is nothing in my world
But me and my morning girl

And you must realize
that you've got this man here hypnotized
cuz there is nothing in my world
But me and my morning girl

Yeah man, you're on a roll. I'm liking this stuff, though I'm sure you've heard that from many people already. What brought you into music and how does it make you feel? (interrogation is necessary!)

You should check out Jon Von Bohem, you and him have similar taste, and your lyrics relate quite nicely.

Hmmmm - how does music make me feel....

Read my bio for some of that info:
http://www.matthewmoranonline.com/bio/

Dad played banjo - doesn't play much anymore. He has an amazing low and powerful voice - I listened to him recording Blowing in the Wind on a cassette player and I wore that recording out. Picked up a Guild Classical that was laying around the house and a Mel Bay book of chords, the Pete Seeger Red book, and taught myself the following...

C F G7
Which allowed me to play..

The Crawdad Song
This Land Is Your Land
The Paw Paw Patch

Added an Am and did Blowing in the Wind and I was "jammin' with Dad."

Not a whole lot in common with my Dad, so that was a good connection. Which is pretty cool - I was working at a coffeehouse yesterday and my 21 year old son dropped by and we jammed on the patio.

How does music make me feel? Clint Black summarizes it in State of Mind..

Ain't it funny how a melody can bring back a memory
Take you to another place in time
Completely change your state of mind

It can make a right from a wrong, it can make you fall in love
It can get you singin' along

Chase the clouds away and make the sun shine above
A melody can bring back a memory
Take you to another place in time
Completely change your state of mind

I'll check Jon out. And I'll post another tune here - currently working in Samplitude on final mixdown of few more songs for a self-pressed CD and writing my newsletter for start of March.

I'm not really one to read people's bios, I like hearing it from their mouths, or on here, and read what they feel at that moment.

Great lyrics, and I definitely agree with them.

Good to hear you transcribing other tracks, transcribing songs are the best way to learn.

I thought you must've been a Clint Black fan! I am too! I like him and George Strait a lot, not sure who I prefer. You're song I thought had thier kind of feel to it. I actually heard the background of Geoge's 'My kind of woman' in the background, that fit in well I thought. But not as if you'd use his. I does seem very Clint Black too.

Your lyrics are amazing, I'd love ot hear it. Great work Matthew.

I must say that even this clearly is not my cup of tea, there is very confident and good playing there. I listened that acoustic collection also... nice stuff, but I think that Morning girl is best of those that I heard.

You seem to mixed them kind of interesting way to put guitar a little left and vocals little right channels... well I think it could sound more thick if widens stereo image on guitar and put vocals on center... but anyway... its just matter of taste. Great job.

Cheers!
