how long has everyone been playing.. and what styles do you like/use?

ive been going for only about a year n a half, but ive had alot of down time to sit around and play.. i for one enjoy blues and folk, mixed with some reggae and alot of psychedelia.

i've been playing for 2 years i almost quitted last year , i didn't touch my guitar for half a year but i decided to give it another go last summer vacation and now i'm more driven then i've ever been
i like mostly metal , rock and maybe i'll give jazz and blues also a chance , but the true problem is i don't know any other guitarists in real life who are driven by the instrument , so i have no one to talk to about guitars so that's the main reason why i'm here at this forum .

Hi guys, I've been playing for twentytwo years already (the wrong way, as I just found out, resting my little finger on the pickguard :), I had seven years of classical lessons, and after that I played mostly bluegrass, (also started to play banjo, mandolin and fiddle) Recently I've been playing a lot of pop and rock also, 'cause people all the time keep asking me if I can play that, guess I have to do some metal too

Damn, I rest my pinky on the pick guard too.. haha how do I break this habbit and still get steady picking and palm mutes? Maybe this is the wrong thread...
