I wouldn't say it's a Gmaj7+ just because it has the notes.
Perhaps with heavy distortion it may sound good to you. That's all that matters.
I'd call it a B/F# b6 |

justy try picking it without the open g and then it sounds really good |

Hey Joe, I'm confused. why is this not a Gmaj7#5 or at least an arpeggioated (not sure what the right word would be) or inverted?
I understand that the chord starts on a f# but according to one of your lessons that would make it an inverted chord right?
I could see not hitting he open G and then it becomes a B chord (inverted right?) but as long as the g is there it's an gmaj7#5
how do you come up with the B/F# b6?
I'm asking because I'm confused and would like calcification and not because I'm getting some chord note theory nazi.

Thats ok, if you remember, I also talked about why we invert chords.
It's about voicing, this would voice as a B chord not a G chord, thats the only reason.
Also, we tend to not let a maj7 end in it's root. |

@ KC,
that isn't the only song where that chord is used. |

Hi
In my humble opinion that is the second inversion of Dm# b11. I think its a 4&6 chord. |

um, from my knowledge, you can't have a "sharp flat" anything, unless there was a typo? |

Probably youre right, I am not very used to this encoding. What I actually want to mean is that G is the dim 11th of the tonic D#.
Anyway looks a little weird but sounds ok 2me. |

Sry think is D#+ b11 2nd inversion |
