i didn't say i knew what it felt like. i just know that some of the damage that is done to women because of rape, exists because of the way we look at it. if we as a society looked at rape the same way we look at assault, then these women would be better off. there would be no harmful stigma's, no guilt, no sense of violation more then when a person is beat up.

when a person gets the hell beat out of him (i've been there for sure), they don't feel guilty, they aren't generally mentally scarred, it certainly doesn't ruin their life. we need to stop with the over the top victimization of women when they are raped; because it really does make them more of a victim then they need to be, and it's unfair to women that we do that to them, when we could just as easily have a culture where if you are raped, it's not a shame, it's not something that will scar you for life, it's just a bad experience akin to being beat up. this would save a lot of pain for the victims... probably most of it, because rape is more psychologically unpleasant then physically.


as i said, you people can take something i say, like saying we shouldn't hurt women, and turn me into a monster for saying it. you should work for FOX news, and do all their hit jobs on people's character by twisting the truth and their words.

yes, i can say that. i don't need to experience rape to know that women are victimized beyond necessity by our culture, and it damages.

you don't fucking get it. the mental aspect is completely subjective. if you had a island, and you put a bunch of parents with instructions on it to teach their children certain things, they could teach their children that rape was GOOD if they wanted to, and the women would be THRILLED at the prospect of being raped. now, because we believe that the violation of someones body without consent is wrong, we would not do that. but we don't have to make it a scarring, life altering event, either. we MAKE rape that scarring, life altering thing; we don't HAVE to.

this stigma and cultural attitude is part of the true sexism in our culture; not the fake sexism that idiot feminists blabber on about, but the real sexism. teaching women to be completely ruined when they are raped is sexist and cruel, and we should STOP it.

i'm not saying we should just, 'blow it off'. i'm saying we need to change our attitude as a culture around it so as to eliminate the completely unnecessary associations women make with being raped in our society.

it's cruel for us to harbor a image of rape victims in our collective mind as being eternally guilt ridden, violated, damaged by a feeling of worthlessness and powerlessness, because these become self fulfilling prophecies. they are embedded in the minds of women, and they fully manifest themselves when they get raped.

if we changed that image, so that we considered rape nothing more then a abhorrent form of assault, and we did not go out of our way to victimize rape victims above and beyond what is necessary, rape would no longer be something that completely ruins the life of a woman. it would not be anywhere near as traumatic if women were raised to not view it as such a cataclysmic event from which nothing will be left of them. our current way of thinking is sexist and cruel. it creates needless suffering and pain.
