never stress a note you cant reach. very bad for the voice. all i can really say is just practice singing alot to other songs and in time youll get much better |

Aye, sing along to songs and get to know you vocal range, also practice the breathing =] If you have trouble with clarity open the mouth wide, rise the eyebrows and basicly just open the whole face, because the sound resconates throughout the whole skull it helps alot with the loudness and clarity to sing with an open face.
I can sing =] my problem is singing in front of people .-. if I know people are about I lose my volume and ability to carry a tune =[ end up a mumbling idiot.. |

All you can do really is practice and don't stress your voice out by trying to reach pitches you can't or repeat your practice so often that your throat gets sore. Keep precticing for a reasonable amount of time and all through the day do it again so your voice does'nt just go caput for a while basically. |

i cant disagree with you more. i have found that working on notes that are hard for you to reach will expand your range. |

I started singing very young , If you dont stress your voice it doesn't get stronger, It also helps to take a drink of pure lemon juice before singing, thats what i used to do...hope it helps! |

it really depends on how much i guess, little bits at a time would be ok but large amounts could really damage your voice |

I'd say it was right that you should never stress hard on the notes you can't reach, I mean you can stage your way to get better pitch but don't overdo it all in little time! Really though, me and others have just got nasty shakey wimpery voices gone all out of tone after we keep pressing on high long pitch too much. |

succession is rare without failure. its kind of like guitar, when you start playing your fingers hurt and it sounds terrible, but the more your playing with raw fingers the more calloused your fingertips will be the next day, if you catch my drift |

Well, I've been taught by a professional singer. Posture is so important, it may sound weird, but you need to make sure you're straight (align yourself in the mirror) make sure you're not raising your head too high or too low (this puts a strain on the voice and with time can damage your voice box)
Also the stress jcb3000 is getting at is right - DO NOT strain your voice. Many people have done this and lose their voice.
Practice repeated stuff; arpeggios, scales, octaves. This may feel boring, but this is exactly what helps get your voice louder, stronger, and you'll be able to reach those difficult notes the more you practice.
(Of course, each human being has a limited range they can sing to- so make sure you know your vocal range) ...supprano, alto, etc.
Make sure to do a warm up before you go right into singing songs. This really is vital if you plan to sing.
If you want people to understand you (depending on how you sing, of course), practice pronunciation. Sing things like “Fluffy Puppy” “Red Lorry, Yellow Lorry, Red Lolly, Yellow Lolly”
This helps strengthen the muscles in the mouth.
Hope this was helpful. :-)

A 'bit' I'd say as in over an hour for most in a row, as much asyou want all through the day with a break here and there. |
