Yes Boys and Girls, I have come to the realization that the folks running the Gibson Guitar company are somking Crack, Yes Crack as in crack cocaine.
The Pictures below are Gibson branded guitars, I look at them and just wounder what they were thinking.

I have seen the reverse Flying V before, it always makes me chuckle. The other two aren't as bad, but I would never (choose) to play them. |

the recerse v is retarted....the other v makes sense, but tht, looks and i bet it plays retarted. 1st 1 looks cool, but i dont like the dot inlays, pretty damn hard to access 22 fret. |

1 - not bad, cutaway should be deeper, as EMB said.
2 - Looks like a fucked up Explorer
3 - *pukes* |

The last two look awful. The first one (can't remember the name of it) is awesome, though. |

The first one looks a bit like an Explorer with rounded edges! Probably so you can't injure yourself while playing lol. Not keen on the colour though. |

I think the lightening bolt type shape look cool. And the reverse flying-v was born when a drunken shop worker was disoriented. |

@bhs;
I think it would be cooler to have that kind of burst, but from like black to grey. Instead of black to like some weird brown.
lol @ Empirism.
The SG Les Paul that I found on Google just looks like a normal SG to me o.o |

I'm not really a big fan of any Gibson solid body designs other than the Les Paul. |

I would have to say, Yes. Of all the guitar companies, Gibson probably has the most outlandish guitars. Don't forget the log:

That guitar looks like it was made out of driftwood and old car parts.
I can't tell if this is gibson or not... But its still weird as hell

It's not gibson, I don't think either of those are. The latter is Pat Methany's guitar. You can see him play it on YouTube. Every string except for the normal 6 is used as a drone string or just plucked/strummed. He only frets the normal 6 strings on bottom there. |

The only Gibson designs I like are the Les Paul, the ES-335, the RD, the J200 (Monarch), and the Flying V.
Well, those are the only ones that come to mind. |

I would n EMB5490 says: most of those low end gibsons arnt any good, epis are a much better choice.
I don't know about that. I have and gibson marauder. It is a pretty nice guitar and was low end in the 70's but it is better than any les paun jr or low end epiphones. |

I think I soon buy new guitar, I thought epis just for their price, but i dun have any experience of those... Ive handled les paul and I just hated its neck.. somehow it not fit to my hand, maybe its too thick for my taste.
Which one you would suggest Epis or Srat? I like to play Heavy kind of sounds but also light grooves and rock.... |

@ Empirism:-
You can get a high end SG '61 reissue for the price of a mid-range LP. The SG in question has the thin tapered neck (non-chunky) and the famous '57 humbuckers (if you like that kind of thing).I was tempted to get one of those myself but I'm saving hard for an ESP Viper instead (if only my wife would stop finding 'better' things to do with my money!). |

I'm not so sure about that. I have a gibson marauder, in the 70's it was a low end guitar and i think it's much better than a LP jr or other low end epiphones.
@Empirism - Gibson and epiphone are know for the chunky neck some people like it some don't.
Strats have a thinner neck you might like it but you may want to check up on telecasters too. sweet tone. |

Thing is, Gibson's are horribly over-priced. Seriously, I would just take the pickups from a Gibson, and put them into an Epiphone. Plus, I HATE the headstocks of Gibson's. |

@ Empirism:-
If you do decide on an LP, you're best off with a high end Epi. I've had one of those and it was just as good as the LP studio I have now, but £300 cheaper! |
