Blues guitar

I have been playing the blue a lot the past couple of days. I like my Les Paul but with fathers day coming up I'm sure I will get "surprised" with a new guitar. I just don't know if I should drop hints for a Tele or a semi-hollow both are fairly popular in blues. My wife has already started asking questions trying to get me to give her a clue without coming right out and asking me what I want. I just can't decide between these two guitars. So I know it's all about personal preferance or what ever but what is your opinion, Tele or semi-hollow for a blues guitar?

Strat

Tele is one of the most versatile guitars ever, I'd say definitely Tele but you know the semi hollow has a great tone though they are the more expensive of the 2

Teles are great but nothing sounds like a strat.semi hollow looks and sounds good but they are way too expensive

okay well I concurr nothing has trancended more genres than the Strat I still say that the Tele is the one to go with instead of a semi-hollow

If you're talking 'country' blues, I'd definitely go for the 'twangier' Tele sound. I think a semi-hollow with 'buckers (ie ES335) sounds really good on Delta blues.Personnel preference really!

I disagree.

I have both a strat and a tele. The start is very comfortable but the tele has a better tone. I can get a bigger variety of sounds out of the tele. I love my Tele....

My next guitar is going to be a hollow body. I was looking at epiphone dots but have completely decided against it after playing a couple and then compared them to some Ibanez they were just over all better sounding and playing.
