New Lyric

Okay so they're was this prom thing at my school tonight and I was SUPPOSED to go with a girl who I really really like, and she never showed up. Honestly it broke my heart. So OBVIOUSLY, what do I do? GO write a heavy metal song. I have a lyric here:

Your dead to me dead inside,
You lied to me I can't
LET THIS SLIDE

Any advice on what to do with it? That is gonna be a chorus.
I just kinda write down the first thing that comes to mind and that sound kinda good imo.

Not really into it, but that's just me. I would try thinking on the bright side. I remember a song by Oasis called "Don't look back in anger". Basically, it speaks about a girl who missed her chance, and then she finally realizes it. Though it may have pissed off the writer/guy in the story, he's not gonna look back in anger. (Lyric: So sally can wait. She knows it's too late as she's walking on by. My soul slides away. But don't look back in anger...I heard you say).

Basically, think of it in different ways, and from different angles. Just say what you would as if she were right in front of you. The rest of the lyrics should start to flow on out.

I think I actually heard that song somewhere before. it sounds familiar.
It's kinda a heavy metal lyric and that's what it's gonna be when it's finished so yeah.
Anyways that sounds like it might work. Esp. The part about being right in front of her

sounds like a song that would come off IOWA

I agree with BodomBeachTerror, it sounds like it could be a Slipknot song. You could kind of growl the first two lines, then yell the last part.

I would add some more words for the chorus, but that is a solid start.

I've actually been hearing something by breaking Benjamin when I wrote the lyric.
I am not quite sure what song but Unknown Soldier starts off "Border line, dead inside" But that doesn't quite match how mine sounds...

Dude I was the guy at the Gr7 grad that had no date and had no one who even pitied me enough to dance with me so you know what I did, I went and got rreeaallyy fuckin baked and wrote something that was a total Tenacious D and fucked if I remember how it goes but my advice don't write metal if a girl ditches you instead have one of your friends who happens to be a chick pretend to be your girlfriend and make sure she acts slutty then the other girls want what you cant have instinct will kick in and then she'll end up like totally going tup to you and slipping her toungue down your throat it always works for me

Metal is not built on hate. A lot of metal that I have is actually very emotional and has a lot of love in it. Some metal is hateful, like maybe... Hate me by Five Finger Death Punch. But then again, The Bleeding, by the same band, is apparently supposed to be a love song. The older metal music had much more emotion and love though. But not necessarily thrash and death metal. More like the Hair Metal kind.
