ok guys any opinions on the following guitars would be helpful.
i went crusing around looking at a few pawn shops just for the fun of it.thought i might find a place that didnt know what they had,but then again i dont know much myself
at one there was a 7 string jackson with a body like a kelly(kinda x or explorer looking). model KE7?? maybe i didnt notice any model number on it. it was kinda beat up the trem bar was missing and one comtrol knob was loose in its mount. asking 279 but prob get it for less. i saw on one place on net that this model was kinda hard to find.
one place had 2 washburn's both with dual humbuckers and a single inbetween. 5 way switch. one was in better shape than the other but once again trem bar missing. asking 200 for either one
one place had an interesting guitar, Aria pro ii cs-350. it had extra switchs i never seen b4. after searching the net i found out about them but the price was way too high. asking 365.

that 7 string Jackson Kelly would be a easy fix, and seems to be the best bet for the cash
you can get a trem bar online for it, for cheap "no real big deal" and one of the control knobs is loose, just pop it off with a pick, or pull it off, then you'll see a gab in the top of the shaft, just insert a quarter into that and make the gap alittle bit wider "not too much though" then put the knob back on, and repeat if needed. |

thanx. that is the way i went. i got confused the jackson didnt even have a trem bar and the knob was in way better shape than on the washburns. i got them mixed up. on the neck pickup the plastic housing that surronds the open coil humbuckers is broke but i can order one of those. i got it for 205 out the door(or 189 + tax) i think thats a smokin deal. |

Thats a pretty good deal. I bought my used Jackson Kelly (6 string Japanese) for about $330 but it was in really good condition. A new one would cost around $700. That 7 string would probably be more expensive I would guess around $900-$1,000. Do you know where it was made? |

I would say even with some of the problems with it you got a good deal. the 6 strong versions are going on eBay for $200-300. You should post pic of it on the guitar picture thread. i would love to see it.
Pawn shops are great. I used to work at one years ago and got to see lots of cool and unique stuff come through. I purchased a few. all of my guitars came 2nd hand. you know your stuff you can get some really great deals. but if you don't know your stuff you can get ripped off.
I have tomorrow off i might do some pawn shopping myself. |

Definitely go with the Jackson. Aria's are okay guitars, but they feel like strat knock offs to me. I've had bad history with washburn guitars, though they seem to have good basses. |

i own a washurn x-50profe, its a discontinued model, ans was alittle expensive, but it is an incredible guitar. there is nothing i would change about it. it just straight up kicks ass. i dont know what washburns you've played but even the low end ones ive played were pretty decent. |

I think I'm a tone junkie. I dunno, it just sounded bad to me. And the neck I really didn't like. It had a good weight though. |

lol @ it had a good weight though. "the sound sucks but the guitar has a good weight." Sounds like you're talking about a bowling ball. I like the Washburn Acoustics. Do they make electrics as well. |
