How do i mix together pentatonic scales and regular major scales. For example If i play a g maj chord do i play an e minor pentatonic or g minor? Can someone explain please? |

It would be E minor.
Minor and Major pentatonic scales are the same essentially just with different root notes.
G major = E minor, C Major = A minor, etc... |

e minor pent for strict playing (not leaving the base scale). However, you would need to play more of course as G major would establish a G key. I'm assuming you get this.
Playing G minor (pent) over G major is a "minor over majors" soloing theory used a lot (pent) in your rockish blues or bluesish rock. Heavily found in Chicago blues around WWII (bit before bit after) and adopted by many influenced 1960s-70s rockers and here after. |

Playing around with black gospel, no racial slur-that's just what it's called, I find I am able to do this A LOT. I will use Maj Pent and min Pent within the same solo to get that blues sound. This is really effective over 7th chords with Maj Progressions. |
