@coleman *sigh* lets please not start this arguement again, this is a GUITAR forum, and alot of rap music doesnt use a guitar,so it just seems logical most guitarist do not like it.
im not starting an argument i don't see posts bashing electronic music. i love hip hop so it seems logical i would defend it. im asking anyone to like hip hop just for people to be openminded about music in general. APPRECIATE GOOD MUSIC! oh and rap and hip hop are NOT the same thing. biggie is rap, tribe called quest is hip hop. i love biggie but i'll agree most rap is ****. Lil Wayne and all those other lil young rappers with no flow, ***ing ****. even if the music dosn't nessicarilly speak to you, al least be able to appreciate intelligent music, and in my opinion hip hop is one of the most intelligent forms of popular music. to dislike an entire genre of music is an incredibly closeminded way to be. there is good progressive music in every genre of music. i mean progressive as a term to describe a forward movement of the genre, not nessicarilly complex musical ideas. why don't you approch hip hop with an open mind. i promise you it won't let you down. good places to start are sage francis, atmosphere, del the funky homosapian, blackalicious, tribe called quest, beastie boys, greives, and blue scholars. IT TIS NOT WEAK!
@coleman Im glad someone else sees it like me. ALL musicians should be open minded to other types of music.
@JazzMaverick I just listened to two of the songs, so I can not speak for all 4 songs. But they are nice. Recently there have been a lot of local / regional bands in my area that have tried that type of sound, however none of them are memorable. Without insulting your friend, but without a major stage presents they will fit into that forgettable category.

Things have changed though Coleman, EMB said he didn't like it - but he also said that now - two years later from posting that topic- that he doesn't like them but he doesn't hate them. They're just not his thing, which he accepted and decided not to spam hate on the forum. Someone brought that topic up from two years ago. Which was interesting, because the majority of the members actually defended it.
There are a lot of people interested in Hip Hop, pop, and occasionally rap. But because this is a guitar forum, I don't think many people post things that they can learn from it simply because these genres don't use guitar very much, however, I've taken the time to learn a lot from these genres, they're very useful from time to time.
@ Crash, that's cool man, you can think that.
They're playing in the biggest concert stage in the country, so I think they're doing pretty well. :)
