I haven't read it but the author of that book is also the same as the one who wrote Hammer of the Gods (also about Zeppelin) which i am reading now and so far its really good. It really breaks down like the bands "adventures" and goes in depth about what each song was about and how each album came to be. Transports me to the 70s.:) So im assuming this one is similar.
Somehow I knew you would be the one to respond to this thread LedZeppRox! I read Hammer of the Gods years ago and don't remember much. I'm gonna have to read that again!
By the way, have you ever looked at post from jun626 on Youtube? He's got a ton of Zeppelin songs he plays perfectly! I've learned a lot of Zep from him.

When I read Hammer of the Gods a few months ago, I found out that the Madison Square Garden live footage in The Song Remains the Same documented some of their least favorite concerts ever, and that they could never get a full filming of Dazed and Confused so they cut sound from a couple of different nights together.
Yeah! i find myself watching un626's videos alot, its so accurate. The singer was handpicked by Jason Bonham to be the singer in his Led Zeppelin tribute that i saw about a week ago. In my opinion he is very good at singing Robert Plant. Not many can.
Yeah. My brother just turned me on to these guys, especially jun626. Your right. That singer is the best I've heard do Plant.
Zeppelin by far is my favorite band ever. I get into there stuff so much sometimes I get sick of them! I'm just getting back into them again for the hundreth time!
I started reading the book this weekend. I can't put it down! It's not as indepth as Hammer of the Gods was but it's still awesome in a different way. Ya know how a good book will take you away? Well, It's 1975 and I'm flying all over the world on tour with LZ!
that sounds awesome!! my grandma showed me an article on the book that she found and shes like have u read this book its about led zeppelin. i love how books like these can do this cause sadly ive never experienced the 70s :( haha
haha yeah good point. :D i always wonder what i would be like if i had never heard Black Dog in the car that one day... that basically changed my life. (in a good way! haha)

Geez I hate to break your heart but I remember listening to Black Dog on my way to Boston Garden to see Led Zep back in 1971! And...................................................................It was as great as you are probably imagining right now!

It was the Heartbreaker/Living loving Maid combo that I used to hear on the radio that did it for me. My older brother had all of their albums. He was 14 and I was 12. Then he got Physical Grafitti in 75 and I heard Kashmir. Kashmir, Heartbreaker, and the Rain Song have been my favorites ever since.
