Hey all, i know this a guitar forum anyone know a saxophone forum or info on sax? like what keys make what notes and stuff? Maybe a book to buy?

Yeah phip welcome back!

Yeah im trying to expend my musical ability. I feel guitar will be my main instrument, but i can play trombone (fairly well now that i realize it) and could probably pick up trumpet fairly easy... Tuba is very very hard tryed my friends tuba...

So i could probabaly play something with a mouthpiece so i decided reed... And i love the sound of a sax....

Its really hard! Haha i can play over the rainbow 0.o

I picked up trumpet and my neighbors hated me!

i played saxamophone for 8+ years when i was a kid. alto, then tenor, then bari. compared to guitar... it sucks!

seriously, though. it blew my mind when i first picked up a guitar and learned how to play it. the sax is what i consider a "linear" instrument. you play notes, that's it. SO, if i asked a guitar player to play F# major scale, they could easily play it. no question. but if you asked a sax player to play that? they woud refuse.

gah... i'm rambling. wind instruments are really really cool and the next time i have spare cash sitting around it's going to be difficult to decide between an SG or a tenor sax
