Sounds good! The solo is a little fast over that rhythm though. But keep playing, you have lot of potential!

As to the second vid, I liked it. When you're PLAYING that is lol. I think you're worrying about the tone too much dude. Personally I just get the best tone I possibly can out of the amp, and let it roll.

Sounds pretty good. I like bend notes up and down and fast and slowly. A hard trickl to learn. Hard for me anyway. Prebending.

Well, I didn't get a chance to watch the videos because the internet isn't too great tonight. But, you don't always have to resolve to the root tone. You never have to do anything in music.

It is like playing "stripped chords". Play C major, but without the C and pick that up with the bass or another instrument. Play "half phrasing" and finish with the bass or another instrument.

You know what sounds really cool, playing in a C major progression and finishing one of your phrases on B... i.e. Cb. My dad, who is an amazing and accomplished Jazz player, once told me, the most important parts of a solo, are the beginning and the end.

Start on the root and end on the root. Who cares what you do in the middle, experiment.

Rock on!

p.s. I'll give the videos a listen when I get a chance!

So you need help playing something other than the root? Ah, my misunderstanding. It's all muscle memory, force yourself to play something else. If you are improvising, think about what you playing. I understand sometimes you can get lost in your solo. But bring yourself back to earth after each measure... just to make sure you are still there hehe. Just follow the rhythm.

Rock on!

What you can do, if you notice that you are about to resolve on the root, add a quick trill or a tapped octave/harmonic. As long as you stay on beat it'll sound sweet.

Rock on!
