Is there a huge difference because I have a squire body, american neck, and american pickups, I would like to build a guitar and hopefully get some cash for it. So is there any big difference in the models? |

not that I know of, I think the biggest difference is the hardware, which if you got a decent bridge and set of p'ups you should be good. |

the overall quality of wood is different.
When the wood is cut from the tree itself, the better "looking" wood is sent to be used for the MIA bodies. If you were to remove your paint you would actually see the differences in the body.
If you took it to a person who knew about the quality of wood (without paint) they would see the difference immediately. As for with paint, there's no real difference.
The other difference in the bodies is the overall paint quality. The best paint would be found on the MIA. But again in the hands of a general person it would be hard to tell. |

A better example via picture.
The left side is something you may see under a Squier paint job, the right side may be under a MIA paint job.
My thinline in my pic has wood more like in the middle. |

true, but also, Eddie Van Halen's Frankenstrat had a knot in the body wood, and his tone was pretty legendary :D I tend to not notice TOO much difference between 2 strats though(MIM and Squier), honestly I think that brand name has too much of an effect on people's perception of the product(like the MIM v MIA strats). |
