Well, if anything, why don't you write the vocal part out by playing guitar? Test it out as you go along to see if it's possible. Honestly you're better off doing it yourself rather than having some program do it for you. |

Hey EMB. Check Band-in-a-box. Its about 100 bucks at sweetwater.com. They have it for MAC and PC. I've never used it, but it sounds interesting and could be what you are looking for. I'm not sure the quality of the instruments, but I think it would help. Its made by PG Music. |

Its free to try on cnet.com. I don't know the restrictions though. It could be it will only work for 15 days or you can only select so many instruments or something. Worth a try at least. There may be other software on there to try out and you may find something thats free to use. I try out all kinds of stuff there before I buy it. |

It's not only for Jazz. The Description says,"...a variety of musical styles FROM jazz to country to classical and more." Maybe the version you torrented (j00 L337 warez haxor, j00!) ages ago was only for jazz and the new version has the new styles. IDK, I never used it before. The box reminds me of early 90's commodore 64 software so I've never looked into it, lol. |

If you have access to a linux box there's a lot of options for composing/recording...I use a program called Kguitar to write my stuff note for note...it even does tab if that's your bag...and then I fire up a little (hehe) program called Ardour to record multiple tracks into raw a raw wav file...and then I convert it to either lossy or lossless (flac or mp3/ogg)...
A whole digital studio at your finger tips... |
