do they have to be analog (i have a Lexicon 1st gen JamMan n such and wondered)
at the very end of my pedal-board i use a lot of delays Boss DD6->BossDD7->Boss LoopStation->Lexicon *(1st generation)JamMan->Lexicon Verb

i love them all

but you want a fist-timer that RAWKS! so...

i'd recomend the new and fun (used one at a few gigs) MXR Delay or the simple Boss DD3 ...etc it depends on what ya spend, hell, right now i'm trying to unload the two stomp echo's so i can grab a Line 6 Delay(from hell)

1st objective = find something fun, in your price range, and both user friendly and effective.

try the boss dd3 .. 100bucks, free ship

RAWK!

Line 6 delays are sweet. Check out the echo park pedal which has several echoes and an analog delay ($150) or the DL4 pedal which has a ton of delays ($250). If you can't swing those the Boss DD-3 is about ($119). These prices are from an older sweetwater.com catalog. You may be able to find better prices out there.

well, i actually just got my first pedal this weekend. i got the boss DD-5 with the tap tempo pedal, it's the predecessor of the dd6 and dd7. it was discontinued in 2003 so a little old but it's awesome. i only paid 85 and for it. i would personally know recommend craigslist, i bought my guitar and this pedal and they have both been great.

@carl. do you have any good suggestions for settings. it's my first pedal and it's a little complicated even though i do get most of it. thanks
