I could use advice on which recording device I should buy. I'm new to the game but I want to get my chord progressions down on something I can play them back on so I can work on improvising. I don't need an entire recording studio just something inexpensive to play around with.
Thanks for any help.

thanks, that's the one I was looking at before. I just wanted to make sure that's the type of thing I needed as I have never used one. |

Yeah man. Using the Boss pedals is one way to go. It'll just take a little bit of getting used to. (My friend has one of those and i have no idea how to use it)
You can also just record tracks on your computer and play over them. Its what i do.
There are positives and negatives about both. |

If you can use your computer to recording, you could save a lot of money. There are good free sequencers and recording softwares on the net. You just need a way to connect your guitar to soundcard or amplifier or if you have an multieffect pedal like POD. and you are ready to rock. Believe me, you said that you dont need an entire recording studio, but hunger grows by eating eh? :P |

try audacity, its free. I make professional quality recordings with it. Search audacity on yahoo. the name of the downloading site is sourceforge. Its very easy to use. Plus you have all the computer space to save your files. |
