Depends what you're talking about. I'm pretty good at playing chords but i'm not very good at the ones that are just notes D: |

My abilities are above average I'd say. I'm way past the point of being comfortable with my instrument. I'd consider myself fairly proficient at rythm and lead song writing, however, my musical "book" knowledge is just a pinch higher than your average four year old. Probably less than some, actually. I don't particularly struggle in most aspects, except music theory/composition, and sweep picking. The sweep picking technique is my eternal bete noire. |

I have struggled with alternate picking speed for years. I've always used Fender medium picks and never thought to try anything different. I was at Guitar Center and said this to the guy behind the counter. He said try these green dunlop thin/heavies. They're thin but very rigid. I've gone up 30bpm in a month! |

I'm pretty horrible actually. Just learning some new chords and scales is helping a bit. Was using RockSmith for a while but figured out it really was not helping me actually LEARN. Been playing a little over a year now and practice daily for 45 mins or so, sometimes longer. I'm 57 years old so no chance of me becoming a master anyways. Basically play to relax and entertain friends. |

I'm pretty terrible at playing guitar.
When anyone compliments me I immediately assume that they are patronizing me. Or that they're just being nice because they're afraid they'll shatter my fragile, fragile ego. |

My compositions are ok but my playing is not too good quite yet. |

I need to get back into it whole heartedly. Life has caused my playing to suffer recently. |

I would like to say what an awesome sound you get from using a quarter for a guitar pick. |
