hey peeps i need help deciding what guitar i should get a gibson les paul or an orginally ephiphone casino, Les pauls are cool but i love oasis and Noel Galleger usally uses semi-hollow guitars i need help

if you like oasis, check out Gem Archer's guitar. it's pretty cool, and i once played it, it's great.

well i see you said Gibson so I'm going to assume you got some cash to toss around so i would take a few weeks and every day go to a guitar store and play around with all the guitars for a few hours even if you don't think you'll like em because half the battle in finding what you do like is finding out want you don't like.

go to guitar center and other "walmart" like guitar stores but also hit up the mom and pop boutique store because they have the 355, Rickenbackers, and other stuff the other stores won't

i see your 12 so that maybe a issue but you live in new york city and ther more shops there then you can throw rocks at

also i wouldn't worry about what your favorite band uses because the fact is no matter how hard you try you never going to be them all you can be is you. but that in mind certain guitars are better for curtain things so there are reasons why that player may have that guitar(maybe it is really mellow fx: Gibson L-4) that would be the reason to get the same guitar but not just because he/she plays so i play it

actually RA my dad says if i get a scolarship to highschool my dad will buy me any guitar so money anit a problem(not to brag but i am pretty smart so i prob will bet the scholrarship) at patleh what guitar does gem use

LOL, i am in the same boat, looking over your original post, you are looking into something +/- $2,000 USD's?, i have owned high end and low end ESP's, Jackson's, Ibanenz's, Gibson's, Etc.

My best suggestion is this,.... find a piece you like to play,, what is comfy? the neck? the sound? the feel? once you have a few you think you lke, then look into them more. What sound are you looking for? because that is where the materials come into play, basswood?, ash?, mahogany?, then what about the neck? fret board? scale? etc?,

you are going to get a lot of get this or that by asking an open question, then you are going to feel you need to justify something.

my easy answer s an ESP/LTD horizon or an ESP/LTD Eclipse, they look great, play great, sound great, etc and will run you less then a Les Paul Custom, Gretch, etc. my next buy is actually going to be a Jackson Rhoads, after 19 years of playing ESP Guitars ONLY!, what a change huh?, just remember not all guitars are made the same no matter how many of them are made, buy the one you play in the store.
