Hi all
I need a piece of software (if it exists) that will allow me to compose organ/piano/keyboard parts to download and mix with the guitar/bass/drum parts on my Boss digital recorder. I'm hoping that such a piece of software exists because I can't play keyboards but would like to include one on some of my covers/compositions.Any ideas? |

There's samples all over the web if that's something you're interested in, you can almost always re-edit them and change them around to how you want them to be.
Cubase lets you compose stuff even if you don't have a keyboard (or any other instrument) But I'm not sure if you wanna buy it, it's horribly expensive. Otherwise, I'd recommend a pirate. |

Or if you dont want to spend for cubase, you can try Kristal audio engine. Its free and its quite good. Its also support VST.

Following VST files, I can definitely reccommend Edirol HQ Orchestral VST, it's really good, and personally my favourite. It has the most realistic midi sounds, and you'll can use a beautiful concert piano for your songs and it sounds like you played it yourself. |

Hey thanks you two! At least I now have one or two clues where to start looking. Will these programs allow me to build organ/keyboard songs in the same way that patterns can be built on a drum machine ie in steps? |

It's the simplest of them all, easiest way I know, and shows the time signature above the notes you're writing in, and the exact beat you're writing it on. Very helpful for anyone. |

and if you decide to get cubase or kristal, check this site.
http://www.kvraudio.com/
It have tons of free virtual instruments (those are ofcourse not as good and realistic than edirol or other retail stuff...) But synths, organs and analog stuff are great even on free ones. There is also much of information with these. Feel free to ask if you got some problems.
PS. you need an low latency soundcard, otherway its not very pleasant.
Cheers. |
