I know with the Verse I can use B harmonic minor scale.
The F# and Gmaj at the end of the chorus is more of a closer they are not played very long. dont know how to explain it any better haah |

The verse is in B minor, so any minor based scale will work, but best choice is the harmonic to deal with that raised 3rd in the F#.
The chorus is also in B minor, but here it is essential that you play B harmonic minor over the F#, because you're at a cadence point so playing natural minor (i.e. without a #7) will lose all that tension you've been building.
I have to say, it's a very nice progression that has a lot of potential for further development.
Hope that helps!

guitarmastergod says: there are no A#'s in B minor so b minor wont work
Are you sure about that? I think you should try playing it first and seeing how it sounds!

B-C#-D-E-F#-G-A, sounds good. and no A#. maybe you got harmonic minor and minor confused? |

minor a blanket term all it means is 1,b3,5
listen to Afro he has got my vote on the answer. through substitution would better explain i know it but I'm in no position to be giving out advice on that. but seeing how your using all triads you can get really funky with the scales. but you just listed F# it's the fifth of b so I'm amusing you mean F# major just weird how you labeled em all but left that just there(I'm i reading something wrong?). just remember the tension like Afro says. the key should be in b you not stressing any of the chords are you |

RA i did mean to put F# Maj sorry. I tried the B harmonic minor today it didnt sound bad for the most part. it's interesting. sounds kind of spanishy. i also tried the B minor pentatonic and that as well worked out for the most part until the F# came but in terms of rhythm i only play the f# maj about 2 eight notes so with the chorus i think b minor pentatonic would work out as well. thanks guys |
