well, with all pedals you need to experiment to see what each thing does for yourself. i think the speed increases the frequency of the chorus reaction, and width increases the wave length of the sound. i dunno for sure. someone correct me if im wrong. |

Manual.. hmm, manual setting?
Width - Maybe how much you can hear it, on my CF-7 its Depth.
And Speed obviously is how fast the chorus sound goes around |

im sure someone has the original specs somewhere online. who knows. just check around and see if you can do some dating, or at least try to contact MXR with a picture and some info, and ask questions. |

Please tell me you didn't buy it just because it's "vintage"!
You should really look into what a pedal does before you buy it. Failing that, use your ears to hear what's changing when you use the different knobs. Just experiment. |

no. its an awsome pedal i checked everything out about it, many famous players used it, good reviews, handwired, perfect condition, hard to find, and sounds great. |

Still, width/depth and speed are some really basic things to know about a chorus pedal!
Surely you needing a chorus pedal should be the main reason to buy it. It doesn't matter if it's got good reviews or if many famous people use it - if you're not going to play it then it's going to stay in a perfect condition for quite a long time!
I'm not sure what "Manual" does, have a play around and let us know. |

That kinda does imply that you bought it without knowing what it does. |

wow...someones grumpy. take a chill, or two. man, instead of helping its now the time to "prove hes a rich *** and buys pedals for the hell of it." i knew what it did, and i knew the sound id give, i just didnt know how to get it. man...lay off. |

I'm not in a bad mood at all. I feel pretty good right now, and I didn't mean to have a go but personally I always try out or hear demos online of pedals before I buy stuff, so I know what it is I am buying, and what to expect when I get it. That's just the way I am.
Contacting MXR could work, but to be honest you'll probably get a better response if you email a seller's website. MXR aren't under any obligation to reply to you, but if a shop thinks you're interested in buying it (wink wink ;)) then they're more likely to give you a quick and detailed response.
But like I said earlier, just experiment with what each knob does. |

But if you email a shop and say "I'm interested in buying one, tell me what features it has and what it does", then they'll get back to you ASAP to try and get the sale. Obviously, you've already got it, but don't tell them that because then they won't be interested! Same goes for MRX to an extent as well. |

Aight, BHS...you sound like Skold a.k.a TheAmericanBrit ^_~...anyway..
Im not goin to explain how the whole thing work, but its like
.............LFO (which kind of waveform, triangle, sine etc.)
-input - delay - output
The speed control parameter refers to the rate at which the LFO waveform repeats itself, and it also is a factor in the pitch modulation. Increasing that rate is same like compressing the LFO waveform in time, which makes it resulting more pitch modulation.
The sweep depth/width control how much the totaldelay time changes over time and controls the range or how wide the chorus sweeps up and down. Its milliseconds in most cases, and the sum of the sweep depth and delay parameters is the maximum delay used in processing the signal.
I think that manual setting react somehow on the footpedal itself and you can control it manually.
Hope this helps,
