According to said tool, the progression D-E-G7 doesn't have a scale. |

well I tried finding a scale for a chord progression I did a while back it couldn't find a scale but when I took one of the chords off it came up with a scale.
Funny thing was that scale had all the notes in the chord I took off it in but it said it couldn't go with the scale so I don't know if it don't go even tho it has the notes cause of some theory stuff or because theres a problem but there should be a scale for that if not major etc then one of the 9 tone scales should be able to fit it |

That would most likely be because there are Fs and F#s, and Gs and G#s. |

Ha...how about the chromatic scale...use that!
Why not turn the E into an Em? |

That propably not sound E, but Em then. If you wish that sound E there cannot be Em... erm? :D I think that the reason.
Or it might be a SkoldScale... ^_^ |

lol, emp, you my Finnish dawg!
Tele, the Em just doesn't sound right to me. This song is going to be "Beatles Happy", and I just don't like the Em for it. |

Well, the song as a whole will contain the D, E, G, and G7 chords. |

The D and the E on their own implies E mixolydian. Adding the other chords messes things up as far as scales goes, because you have a run of 6 chromatic notes (E, F, F#, G, G#, A), but they would sound awesome with a chromatically descending bassline.
I would look into using more chords though. If it's going to be "Beatles happy" then you could end using a V - I progression to wrap the song up. |
