Not that I know of.
Either way, it really doesn't matter.
Still, I think you could probably get a lutherer to do it for you. |

What? You going for a custom design? Building your own from parts? My artcore has the square inlaid pearl. Something like that? I have a feeling that I'm misinterpreting your question. |

You can your your inlays, but that requires cutting a hole in your fretboard to fit the square ones. Unless you just stick it on there, or paint it, but chances are it will look bad and/or wear off. |

^ Yeah, you most definitely could find squares on there, and probably a lot of other shapes, but the problem isn't in finding them. It's in installing them, or paying someone to install them.
If you want to get a new fretboard/new neck go to Warmoth.com. They'll make you one, and even put the custom inlays in (if you pay a little extra). I think Stewart MacDonald sells blank FBs and neck, and maybe guitar fetish as well. But if your new guitar has a set neck or thru-neck, then replacing necks (and probably fingerboards) is gonna be tricky. |

well em im fairly new to guitar
but ive been working with wood over twenty years
the inlays have to be routed out a whisker tight
and preisisly deep in order to end up flush on the finish side
if you realy want to do it yourself,go find a few junk firstacts or something that you can call disposable and get a lot of practice first
listen to skold on this one find a good lutherer |

doing your own inlays is very difficult. you have to be exact to a standard of about a 30th of a millimeter, or you fucked it up. i did some inlays for a guy with dolphin bone, just little O's instead of dots, and it took me 3 weeks just to properly carve out the slots for the bone pieces. it took me 2 weeks of painstaking labor to whittle out perfect little O's, and i messed up and had to start over all the time.
inlaying is a very, very painstaking task. just go with whatever you can get commercially unless you have 5-600 to get some small custom work done, or 2-3000 for larger more intricate custom work. |

My guitar has this inlay, which is pretty much what you see there all the way up and down the fretboard. From what I've read here, that would suck a ridiculous amount to do, right? |
