fret buzz.

afore mentioned new guitar has HORRIBLE fret buzz on the 2nd fret of the high E. it has quite low action.

what can i do to try and fix it?

im thinking of going to the shop about it.

DEFINITELY didnt have it in the shop tho :/

could i have done something to do that?

Could be that or something up with your frets. Had to replace one of mine before.

Joe, it's a new guitar so why not spend a couple of bucks and get it set up?
I did a search in the archives for the word "buzz" and there are several threads about string buzz. Might want to read those.

If ya raise the action you may have to set the intonation,I've had that happen on new guitars,but really thats wierd. Also it could have like 9'S on it or tens but not be set up for it,like phip said few bucks get it set up,I prefer to do my own...but that will come in time. @ Skold whats up dude ......

Actually it doesn't sound odd to me at all. it's exactly what i would expect. It gets built, put in a box and shipped to the store. A small amount of alignment is done at the factory and if no one at the store (too busy) takes the time to set it up it has little problems. not unusual in my business (TV displays) to find this. Not a big deal.

skold was not to be an ass hole in ur response, i had the same prob, raise it a bit just so some comes, then in a week or so it goes away.

if you raise the action, you also need to flatten the action, and then after that, intone it. which is easy, but tedious. and you need a needle tuner, a cheap digital one won't cut it, you'll need a good one.
