What pedal should I get now?

I have about $180.00 CAD. I am looking to get some new gear tomorrow to have a bit more variety in my sound.. what should I Look in to?

I own a DigiTech Grunge, and I love it. It carries out a great metal, grunge, or punk tone, all in one stomp box.

I own a BOSS MD-2 Mega Distortion which, with the right settings, has a nice blues sound, crisp/chunky sound, or softer distortion.

What now? Maybe should I look into a delay pedal? How much would a decent inexpensive one cost, and who makes it?

I want a delay pedal because I want to be able to play Unforgivable again (the right way.) But I would also like to have some more variety with my tones/distortions, etc.

Even some effect pedal suggestions would be cool. But I don't like Multi Effect Guitar Processors... every one I used had bad sound.

Dude,There are some great guitar processors out there,I have looked at a few and was blown away,I'd rather have one pedal that does much than one pedal that does little,I wont give a sugestion on them because the choice is yours,but you should be able to get a not so bad processors for that money....hope it helped

I own an RP70, BBT. I hate it. In fact I'm selling it to my friend.

And to be more specific: I want to be able to switch to a different soud mid-song for doing a lead. Instead of haaving the same tone through the whole song, I want one tone for rhythm, the other for lead.

What can y'all suggest that are good for leads/solos/interludes?

i have a rp150 and i like it.. but i have very little expeirience w/ pedals

go onto ebay and find a electro harmonix stereo memory man with hazarai. i can't even begin to describe the variety of sounds you can get out of it. its 215 new, but i got mine for 170 on ebay. youtube it to see that ridiculous amounts of things it can do.

a compresser! or maybe a chours or a flaange

What exactly do these do? Make your amp sound good even when it is VERY LOUD?

it will compress the audio signal and when it does that it also make the signal sustain longer. You will be able to hold a note for a long time.

that's the one I got, not much to it and it's plactic and if you were a pro giger may not hold up. But i'm not any of those so it works well

Ou, nice. Plastic pedals I was never a fan of. Never used one but I never liked the thought of non-durability.
Does it affect your sound in anyway? Good or bad? Does it make is clearer, or muffled, etc.?

I went on the DigiTech site to see their products, and I clicked every product demo of every one, and I must say, there are a LOT that I want. They seem so awesome, especially the effect pedals, just think, combining one of them, with my grunge or MD2, or even another Digitech pedal. Then I would have a much different sound.

oh, god. those little danelectro food pedals are awful. their compressor makes the sound so... insincere.

do yourself a favor, if you want a compressor, and don't have much money, get a electro haromonix soul preacher for a hundred bucks. it's pretty damned good, i'd say 70 percent as good as the black finger. which, i might add, sounds as good as a rackmounted, 1000 dollar compressor i used, only with less options.

can you guys help me in buying an effect pedal that gives a clean-warm sound as well as a giant distortion sound. Id also like to have a string swelling sound for blues solos

I got a DigiTech CF-7 Chorus Factory pedal for 100 bucks today. I love it!
It's nice to have a funky sound for my solos and leads.

You *may* wanna look into a multi effects pedal. But I would go with an Acoustic Simulator for warm clean. And giant distortion you may want to look into a DigiTech metal master or Grunge, or a death metal.

String swelling, you may want a vibrato pedal? I *think* that's what you might want. I would advise you try it though, cause I may be wrong.

@Zaiapachuau Try the Boss MT-2 Metal Zone. THe MT-2 has a lot of different distortion settings and is incredibly versatile for its name.

@Guitarboy. Try a delay or tremolo pedal. If youre not going to gig with it try the Line 6 POD.

tele, boss is widespread, accommodating, very integrated... not the best tone since they moved production. the soul preacher is worth it.

zaia, the electro harmonix LPB 2ube stereo preamp with 2 preamp tubes will make your clean sound warm and rich, making SS amps nice and dynamic, and tube amps amazing. now, if you gang the 2 channels, what you get is a distortion unit that literally has 3 dimensional tweakability... it can get a tight, punchy rectified sound, a rock crunch, a soft bite... and regardless, it seriously kicks your tone up a notch. plus, you can drive 2 amps with it, and that is always a blast. i put one in between my zoom g9 MFX board and 1 crate vc5212, or 2 for live, and the tone is incredible.
