I've recently begun listening to more foreign language (native English speaker) music. I heard Joe Dassin singing Les Champs Elysées (I forgot how to make the accented capital e) on The Darjeeling Limited (awesome movie, awesome soundtrack) and this has sparked an interest in me for music in other languages. Anyone have suggestions for me?

P.S. So far I've enjoyed French and Spanish singers (I can usually understand them).

Compay Segundo (One of the most famous Cuban guitarists of all time)
Buena Vista Social Club (A group of Cuban musicians put together by Ry Cooder, including Compay Segundo and Ibrahim Ferrer. These guys won a grammy for their work, and their music is some of the most famous in Cuba)
Los Lobos (They do some stuff in spanish, some in english, but regardless, they are DAMN good)

Thanks a lot for the suggestions guys, I'll try to check them out more tomorrow as it's fairly late. However, I think I might have some time to explain my fascination with Romance Language music. It seems to me that these languages "flow" much better when sung (or spoken, for that matter). There aren't as many hard consonant stops and most of the suffixes are fairly similar to one another.

And who doesn't like listening to French?

I can't believe you listen to them too, man. I totally love that. Especially CHAN CHAN, that's friggin' awesome...
And I totally love Compay's Bass-like voice...Ibrahim Ferrer's also really good...I forgot the name of this guy that played a stringed Arabic instrument. He could really play some shit on that one.
