I recorded the chord progression but when I try to record the vocals over the chords, the first track (the chords), wouldn't play back at the same time while I was recording the vocals. Any help would be appreciated.

Edit: I got it, thanks

Hey guys I noticed that everytime I record a guitar track the sound distorts a lot more than it really should. Does anyone know how to stop the loud distortion? When I use a regular Mic it sounds great.

ok both of you are explaing 2 diffrent issues but should be fixed easy.

League, i bet you have the play back volume up to high. I'm not sure exactly how you have it setup but i use cubase and record at one volume, my win volume has it's own volume control and then my sound card and an application to control sound and such. check all the different levels and when recording and playback. you have to tweat it to get it right.

les_paul, there is an option on your windows sound level app thing (the damn speaker by the time). Double click on it and check the settings there. if thats not it check the transport bar of the app your using and see if their is an option to monitor while recording. Cakewalk and Magix sturido had some silly option like that.

Pretty much you have to break it unitl it works!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!1

I just DL Audacity to see first hand but if you go into eidt prefernces, under Audio I/O at the bottom is a check box for playing other tracks when recording. I'm not 100% sure that will do the trick but thats what my guess would be.
